Empty

What do I feel?
Empty - - I suppose.
Can you feel empty?
I don’t know, though the word,
Seems to fit.

Is empty a feeling?
Or is it a condition?
Both - - I suppose
Both seem right
Both seem appropriate.

What does it mean? - - Empty
A place within where
Once there were friends
And now there are none.
Where once there was feeling,
And now nothing.

Where once there was love
And now, Only
The sound of my lungs
breathing.
The sound of my heart
Beating.
And nothing else to intrude
On this stillness - called life.
